About Us
Our Story
Star Services was founded with a simple but powerful belief: every special needs child has the potential to shine brightly when given the right support, understanding, and opportunities. Our name reflects our core philosophy – we see each child as a unique star with their own special light, and our role is to help that light shine as brilliantly as possible.
The inspiration for Star Services came from recognizing a significant gap in specialized support services for children aged 8-18 on the autism spectrum in our community. While many services focus on early intervention or adult support, we identified the critical need for programs that bridge the important developmental years between childhood and young adulthood.

Our Philosophy
At Star Services, we do not believe there is a need for a behaviour to be “fixed” but rather a different way of experiencing and interacting with the world. Our approach is built on the understanding that special needs children have unique strengths, perspectives, and abilities that, when properly supported and nurtured, can lead to remarkable achievements.
We embrace a neurodiversity-affirming approach that celebrates differences while providing the tools and support children need to navigate a world that may not always understand their unique needs. Our programs are designed to build on each child’s existing strengths while gently supporting areas where they may need additional help.
Our Team
Our dedicated team consists of qualified professionals who bring both expertise and genuine passion to their work. Each team member undergoes comprehensive training in autism spectrum conditions, evidence-based practices, and person-centered support approaches. We believe that the quality of our staff is the foundation of everything we do.
Our team includes specialists in behavior support, sensory integration, communication development, and social skills training. We maintain low staff-to-child ratios to ensure that every child receives the individual attention they deserve, and we work closely with families to ensure consistency between home and our center.
Our Facility
Our purpose-designed facility creates an environment where children on the autism spectrum can feel comfortable, safe, and ready to learn. We’ve carefully considered sensory needs in every aspect of our space, from lighting and acoustics to color schemes and layout. Our facility includes dedicated areas for different types of activities, quiet spaces for regulation and reflection, and outdoor areas for physical activities and nature connection.
